Joanne P. Roukens is the Assistant Director of LLNJ and manages the statewide continuing education program. Before coming to LibraryLinkNJ in September 2010, she was with the Highlands Regional Library Cooperative (Denville, NJ) for 10 years. Serving as the Program Coordinator and then as the Executive Director. She has over 20 years of experience working in public libraries and was with the Morris County Library for 14 years. She has earned a Certificate in Training from the New Jersey Department of Personnel and was the co-coordinator of the New Jersey Train-the-Trainers Program from 2001 - 2005. Joanne is a well known for her training workshops on customer service and presentation skills. Through her programs on valuing libraries, Joanne has helped staff at all types of libraries, both in New Jersey and around the country, demonstrate their value and make the case for libraries. Joanne was the New Jersey Library Association’s 2007 Librarian of the Year.
